Barry Turnmeyer

Sr. Solution Architect and Director of Client Success, dataBridge

Barry Turnmeyer is Sr. Solution Architect and Director of Client Success at dataBridge. He brings more than 20 years of SharePoint experience and deep expertise in SharePoint architecture, Microsoft 365 solution design, migrations, training, discovery, information architecture, and long-term client success. His background spans senior solution architecture, SharePoint development, migrations, Power Platform, leadership, and user-focused design.

At dataBridge, Barry serves in two important roles. As a Sr. Solution Architect, he helps clients define the right path forward through SharePoint and Microsoft 365 discovery, readiness, strategy, roadmapping, site architecture, information architecture, permissions planning, adoption, change management, and training. As Director of Client Success, he leads the dataBridge Advisory Partnership, helping clients protect momentum after launch and continue improving their environment over time.

About Barry Turnmeyer

Barry has built his career around designing, building, improving, and supporting SharePoint environments from the ground up. His experience includes architecting and implementing SharePoint farms, leading migration efforts from on-premises SharePoint to SharePoint Online, building custom solutions and workflows, mentoring development teams, and supporting complex enterprise collaboration environments. He has over 20 years of SharePoint development experience, more than 10 years in management, and hands-on work across SharePoint on-premises, SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Teams, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Sharegate, Metalogix, Nintex, and related tools.

In prior roles, Barry served as a senior SharePoint SME and graphic designer for BAE Systems and Perspecta, where he stood up SharePoint 2016 farms, led migrations from SharePoint 2010 to 2016 and then to SharePoint Online, and guided development teams and enterprise users. He also served as a Sr. SharePoint Solutions Architect at Integrity Applications Inc., where he architected and built a corporate intranet portal, led migrations, deployed custom tools, and trained users through documentation, presentations, and tutorials. Earlier in his career, he supported SharePoint development, program management, and training for government environments, including the National Reconnaissance Office and HSIN-related work.

Barry’s experience is especially valuable for organizations that need both strong technical architecture and practical post-launch guidance. He understands how to turn a SharePoint or Microsoft 365 initiative into something sustainable — not just something that gets delivered.

Barry’s Approach

Barry believes the most successful SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environments are built through strong planning, practical architecture, clear ownership, and continued guidance after launch.

That means starting with the right discovery process, understanding what the business is trying to solve, designing site and information architecture that can scale, planning permissions and governance carefully, and helping users adopt the environment in a way that makes the platform more valuable over time. It also means recognizing that go-live is not the finish line. Without the right follow-through, even strong implementations can drift.

At dataBridge, that often means helping clients answer questions such as:

  • Are we ready for this migration or implementation?
  • Is the site and information architecture strong enough to scale?
  • Are permissions and governance decisions being handled correctly?
  • What do users and site owners need in order to adopt the solution well?
  • What should we review after launch to keep the platform healthy and improving?

Barry’s career reflects that full-spectrum perspective. His background includes end-to-end solution design, custom development, training, migrations, team leadership, contract oversight, and post-deployment support.

What Barry Helps Clients Solve

Barry works with organizations that need a clear path through SharePoint and Microsoft 365 planning, architecture, rollout, and long-term improvement.

That often includes clients who are:

  • Starting a SharePoint or Microsoft 365 initiative and need structured discovery
  • Planning a migration and want to reduce risk before moving forward
  • Reworking site structure, information architecture, or permissions
  • Trying to improve adoption after launch
  • Looking for clearer priorities and a stronger roadmap
  • Trying to make SharePoint and Microsoft 365 function as a governed, improving business platform rather than a one-time project

For organizations in these situations, Barry’s focus is not just on getting the solution launched. It is on helping clients make better decisions before launch, strengthen adoption after launch, and create a platform that remains useful, healthy, and aligned to business goals over time.

That same thinking supports dataBridge’s work in areas like SharePoint consulting services, SharePoint strategy and roadmapping, SharePoint information architecture and metadata, SharePoint migrations, SharePoint training, and SharePoint support.

Barry’s Role in the dataBridge Advisory Partnership

As Director of Client Success, Barry leads the dataBridge Advisory Partnership, dataBridge’s proactive advisory service designed to help clients protect momentum after launch and continue increasing business value over time.

The purpose of this partnership is straightforward:

  • Keep people using what was launched
  • Keep the environment healthy and governed
  • Keep improving the solution over time

The dataBridge Advisory Partnership helps clients turn SharePoint and Microsoft 365 into a managed, improving business platform instead of a one-time project. Through ongoing strategic guidance, governance reviews, adoption support, roadmap alignment, and recurring advisory check-ins, Barry helps clients reduce drift, solve issues earlier, clarify priorities, and continue improving long after go-live.

This role is a natural fit for Barry because his background combines architecture, training, operational thinking, user enablement, and long-term support. His experience has consistently centered on helping organizations move from implementation into sustained success.

Thought Leadership and Insights

Barry contributes practical guidance and strategic perspective across dataBridge, especially in areas such as SharePoint discovery and readiness, solution architecture, migrations, information architecture, permissions, adoption, training, and long-term client success.

His perspective is especially valuable for organizations that want to make better decisions early, reduce risk during implementation, and establish a stronger model for post-launch improvement.
